My 10 month old child is doing well with Colief. However, I notice that Lactase Enzyme liquid available from this web site has the same ingredients, is cheaper and comes in a larger volume.

Can someone confirm that I can give this to my child?

Regards,

Andrew.

Colief and Lactase Liquid Enzyme have the same ingredient. They both can be used for new borns. The only difference is in the price and volume of the bottle.

Hi

I am too considering using this instead of colief which is working out expensive. My DS has reflux (we think) and is on enfamil AR formula and colief which seems to be working.

Anyway, colief must be prepared 4 hours in advance but this one must be prepared 24 hours in advance which would n't work for infant milk as the bottles only stay sterile for 24 hours. You would have to make every feed individually - it would be too cumbersome.
You can also use colief 30 minutes in advance if you put 2 extra drops in and mix the bottle occassionally.

I can't understand why it takes longer for this product to work if it has the same ingredients as colief (is it not as strong as colief?)

Biocare (the manufacturer) do not advertise Lactase Enzyme as Colief replacement despite having the same ingredients. However, most mothers who use Lactase Enzyme instead of Colief had the same results. It is also used successfully for breastfeeding, although this is not something Biocare ever mentioned.

Have a look in the following page:

Hi thanks for your reply

I contacted biocare and they said to use double the amount of drops (Cool if being used after 12 hours (they say to wait 24 hours to use!?)
